Liniell

2 players | 5-8 minutes | ages 8+ | free print & play

Liniell is an abstract tile placement game in which two players are building a 4 by 4 pattern of lines and rhombs.

Each turn the players have to draw a tile and place it next to the tiles already in play. Then they may place one of their two markers on this tile to occupy a line. Lines can only be occupied by one marker at a time and end only at rhombs or at the edge of the tiles.

The game ends when the player who placed the last tile finished their turn. Then, certain parts of the lines, the routes, are scored. Players score points according to the length of their routes, for routes enclosed by rhombs, and for blue rhombs on the ends of their routes.
